Sept. 19-23: Apples!

We've had a fun week talking about all things APPLE!   We also continue learning school rules and routines, which is going very well.

We did our first cutting and gluing project on Monday, Letter A, which was sent home.  All in all, it went well. It's always a little nerve-wracking when we hand out scissors to 16 students for the first time!

Wednesday we used dot-a-dot stampers to decorate apples (small motor activity). They turned out so cute we may display them for awhile before sending them home.

Next week: Fabulous Fall!

Another great day!!

Today's Books...
Today's activity, a circle/ gluing/ glitter activity that will come home tomorrow (activity goal: small motor practice and shape identification).

Check your child's folder for our 1st day project!

If your child talk about something from school, and you're not sure what it is....ask me!  It could be something others are wondering about, too. I can include it in a blog or newsletter :)

Fabulous First Day!

We had a super first day of preschool yesterday! Everyone was so well-behaved and happy to be here. I know we are going to have a great year!

Yesterday we read 2 books (pardon the fuzzy images),
Oliver Finds His Way by Phyllis Root

and Silly Tilly by Eileen Spinelli. (one of my very favorite read alouds!)

We sang a couple of songs, The Monkey and the Alligator, and the Tooty Ta. Ask your child about the actions of the Tooty Ta!

We had inside playtime, a snack, and even got to check out the playground. I'm glad we had time since it sounds like it may be too cold for us to do so on Wednesday!

We also learned how to use the "big bathrooms"--the Elementary bathrooms. We learned how to know which bathroom was the boys or girls, how to turn on the big sink, and use the automatic paper towel dispenser--fun! :)

Learning the preschool rules and routines is a lot of work, but it's fun at the same time.  Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
