Since I am so far behind in blog posts, here is a picture of our friendship mix from our friendship feast at Thanksgiving. The students had fun mixing all of their ingredients from home to make a delicious snack! The morning class had a saltier mix, with pretzels, nuts, goldfish crackers, and cheetos, and the afternoon's mix turned into a sweeter creation with marshmellows, fruit loops, and chocolate chips. YUM!

Meet Izzy/Tippy
Meet our Elf on a Shelf, named Izzy for the morning class and named Tippy by the afternoon class. If you're not familiar with the concept of Elf on a Shelf, the basic idea is that the elf watches you during the day, then at night flies to the North Pole to tell Santa about the good (and sometimes not so good) behavior he saw during the day. The elf then flies back and finds a new place to perch for the next day. When it is Christmas he goes back to the North Pole to stay.
The students have had a lot of fun seeing where Izzy/Tippy's new hiding spot is each day--in the Christmas tree, hanging from the ceiling, even hanging from the clock today, as pictured!
Jingle The Husky Pup
Today we read Jingle All The Way, the story of Jingle the Husky pup who finds a home for Christmas. Jingle is a really cool, interactive toy that responds to certain lines in the story--he barks happily, he cries, he even sings! The students really loved this story and hearing Jingle talk to us!
